Casino Plus Charity Deploys $3 Million Relief Effort for Earthquake-Affected Communities in Mindanao
The charitable arm of Casino Plus has launched a major disaster response initiative in support of communities affected by the recent magnitude 7.8 earthquake in Mindanao, providing emergency assistance and temporary shelter to displaced families.
Through its disaster resilience program, Project Bigkis, the Color Your World Foundation established a temporary tent village in Barangay Lagao to accommodate residents forced to leave their homes following the powerful earthquake.
As part of the initial relief effort, the foundation distributed livable tents and more than 2,000 gallons of clean drinking water to affected communities in Barangays Lagao and Calumpang, where many families continue to face challenges related to shelter and access to essential resources.
Despite logistical difficulties caused by damaged infrastructure and continuing aftershocks, volunteers remained on the ground to ensure aid reached those in need.
“The needs of affected communities remain significant, and many families are still adjusting to life in temporary evacuation centers,” said Casino Plus Chief Executive Officer Evan Spytma.
“Our employees and volunteers are committed to supporting these communities, not only through immediate relief efforts but also through initiatives that will help them recover and rebuild in the months ahead.”
Many residents have sought temporary refuge in covered courts, evacuation sites, and makeshift shelters due to concerns over continuing seismic activity. Local community leaders welcomed the foundation’s support, noting that the tent village will provide much-needed accommodation for vulnerable groups, including children and senior citizens.
“This assistance comes at an important time for our community,” said local leader Fernando Tatad Jr. “The additional shelter and resources will help many families as they continue their recovery.”
The earthquake disrupted water systems and damaged key transportation routes across parts of Mindanao, creating challenges for the delivery of essential services and humanitarian aid.
To further strengthen its response, Casino Plus announced the deployment of approximately P3 million worth of emergency assistance across General Santos City and Sarangani Province. The relief package includes 150 emergency tents, 1,500 hygiene and medical kits, and 1,000 solar-powered lamps.
According to Michael Angelo Horfilla, Corporate Social Responsibility Director of Casino Plus, the foundation’s support will extend beyond immediate disaster relief.
“In the coming months, we aim to contribute to recovery efforts through the rehabilitation of damaged classrooms ahead of the new school year and the implementation of community-based livelihood programs that can help families rebuild and move forward,” Horfilla said.
The recovery initiative is being implemented in coordination with local government units and the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), reflecting a shared commitment to supporting affected communities as they recover from the disaster.

Faster game, faster win: BingoPlus introduces lightning-fast Pinoy Drop Ball Turbo
BingoPlus is turning up the pace this June with the launch of Pinoy Drop Ball (PDB) Turbo, a faster and more action-packed version of one of its most popular games.
The new release streamlines gameplay by taking players directly to the main ball drop, eliminating side features and reducing downtime between rounds. Designed for users who prefer quick and straightforward entertainment, PDB Turbo delivers a faster-paced experience compared to the classic Pinoy Drop Ball format.
One of the game’s key features is its lightning multiplier system. Each round can generate up to three random lightning cards, creating additional opportunities for enhanced payouts. Multipliers can reach as high as 600x, adding an extra layer of excitement to every drop.
Players can choose from different betting options depending on their preferred level of risk. Those seeking a higher probability outcome can opt for the 50/50 Red or Blue bets, which offer returns of up to 1.95x, while more adventurous players can take on the Triple Card bet for potential payouts of up to 16x.
Despite the added speed, the gameplay remains simple and familiar. Three balls drop through the board, and the final landing positions determine the outcome of each round. Players place their bets before the drop and can benefit from any lightning multipliers activated during gameplay.
With its combination of fast rounds, simplified mechanics, and enhanced payout potential, Pinoy Drop Ball Turbo expands BingoPlus’ growing lineup of digital entertainment offerings designed for a wide range of player preferences.
Players interested in trying Pinoy Drop Ball Turbo can access the game through the BingoPlus app. Participation is available only to users aged 21 and above.

ArenaPlus' Erick Su highlights long-term value and responsible VIP management at SiGMA Asia Summit 2026
ArenaPlus Head Erick Su emphasized that successful VIP management is about more than short-term revenue generation, highlighting the importance of building long-term customer relationships while maintaining strong compliance and responsible gaming standards.
Su shared these insights during the panel discussion, “High Rollers, High Risk: Where VIP Strategy Meets Compliance,” at the SiGMA Asia Summit 2026 held at the SMX Convention Center on June 2. His appearance came just a day after ArenaPlus was named Best Sportsbook Operator for the second consecutive year at the SiGMA Asia Awards 2026.
Discussing how ArenaPlus identifies VIP players, Su explained that the Philippines’ leading PAGCOR-licensed online sportsbook takes a broader approach than simply measuring player spending.
“When we define a VIP player, it’s about the strategy you have for that customer and the relationship you build with them. Retention is a key focus,” Su said.
According to him, ArenaPlus values customer loyalty and long-term engagement just as much as turnover.
“Even a medium-spending player who demonstrates long-term loyalty can be considered a VIP player. When designing our VIP programs and rewards, we look not only at the revenue a player generates today, but also at their long-term value to the platform,” he added.
Su also stressed that compliance remains a core component of VIP management. ArenaPlus continuously monitors player activity, transaction patterns, and betting behavior to identify both high-value customers and potential risks.
“From an operational perspective, we closely monitor transaction and betting behavior. If we identify unusual activity, sudden changes in betting patterns, or other indicators that may require intervention, we conduct further reviews before any regulatory thresholds are reached,” he explained.
He noted that abnormal behavior could sometimes signal the involvement of betting syndicates or other activities that warrant enhanced scrutiny.
“In those situations, we may conduct additional KYC checks or request further documentation. Responsible VIP management requires balancing customer relationships with effective risk controls,” Su said.
To support this process, ArenaPlus places significant importance on VIP managers, who serve as the primary connection between the platform and its high-value customers.
“We want VIP managers to build strong personal relationships with players. That way, if enhanced verification or additional checks become necessary, communication is smoother and customers are more willing to cooperate,” Su explained.
At the same time, he warned operators against prioritizing short-term gains at the expense of sustainable growth.
“Some operators focus too heavily on short-term revenue rather than long-term customer lifetime value. That mindset can lead to mistakes, including overlooking compliance requirements or failing to properly assess player risk,” he said.
“In sports betting, high turnover does not always translate into high profitability. If your focus is only on short-term results, you risk making decisions that are harmful to the business in the long run.”
Su concluded by reiterating that long-term success in VIP management depends on a balanced approach that combines customer retention, responsible gaming, compliance, and sustainable business growth.
SiGMA is a global gaming and technology platform with operations spanning Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America, North America, and Southeast Asia.

In the wake of the powerful earthquake that struck parts of Mindanao on June 8, DigiPlus Foundation has launched an emergency relief initiative aimed at supporting affected communities and families in the region.
The 7.8-magnitude earthquake caused widespread disruption across several areas in Southern Mindanao, damaging homes, infrastructure, and public facilities. Initial assessments from government agencies indicated that damages had already exceeded PHP 1 billion within the first day following the disaster.
As relief and recovery efforts continue, DigiPlus Foundation has introduced a dedicated Mindanao Earthquake Relief campaign through the Charity section of the BingoPlus app, providing users with an additional channel to support ongoing humanitarian efforts.
The Charity feature allows users to allocate Impact points earned within the platform toward various social development initiatives supported by the Foundation. These projects are aligned with DigiPlus Foundation’s key focus areas, including education, healthcare, community resilience, and empowerment.
To respond to the immediate needs of earthquake-affected communities, the Foundation launched a special relief project that will help provide food packs and essential supplies to families impacted by the disaster, particularly in General Santos City and nearby areas where significant damage was reported.
“We at DigiPlus Foundation immediately mobilized our teams following reports of the earthquake and have been coordinating closely with both public and private sector partners to facilitate assistance efforts,” said Angela Camins-Wieneke, Executive Director of DigiPlus Foundation.
“Through the dedicated project available on the Charity page, users can participate in supporting our relief initiatives as we work to provide immediate assistance to affected families. Our thoughts remain with everyone impacted by this disaster, and we hope these efforts can help communities begin their recovery journey,” she added.
The Foundation is currently working with local authorities and partner organizations to coordinate the distribution of relief goods and identify communities most in need of assistance. Additional support initiatives are also being assessed as recovery efforts continue.
Beyond emergency aid, DigiPlus Foundation said it remains committed to collaborating with government agencies, local organizations, and community stakeholders to better understand evolving needs on the ground and contribute to longer-term recovery efforts.
As Mindanao begins the challenging process of rebuilding, the Foundation aims to provide timely support while encouraging broader community participation through its ongoing charitable programs.
